Children are picked up after school at 2:30 PM and stay with us in a supervised group until classes begin at 3:45 PM.
Program Description
- What Is KOMPOT?The Pick-Up and Chaperone Program KOMPOT is designed specifically for students of PS145 who are enrolled in the Russian Children’s Studio after-school programs. KOMPOT runs from 2:30 PM to 3:45 PM, is available for children from 3-K through 5th grade, and is offered only on the days when a child attends their Russian for Native Speakers or Russian as Foreign Language classes.
- Safe Pick-Up and Supervised WalkSafety is our top priority. During pick-up and transit, we maintain a strict adult-to-child ratio of 1:4. Children are guided using a safety walking strap, with one teacher leading the group and another supervising from behind, ensuring attentive care at all times.
- From PS145 to the StudioThe Studio is located just four short blocks from PS145. Upon arrival, children are escorted to their classrooms, where they enjoy a snack provided by their parents. Afterward, they spend time outdoors in the inner playground until their 3:45 PM classes begin. When weather conditions do not permit outdoor play, children remain indoors and participate in age-appropriate activities such as board games, reading, coloring, and free play.
- Peace of Mind for FamiliesKOMPOT provides families with peace of mind, knowing that their children are consistently supervised, safe, and thoughtfully cared for every step of the way.
KOMPOT tuition is billed per semester and paid in advance together with the academic after-school program fees, based on the child’s predetermined schedule.
Early dismissal days (11:30 AM) are included in the tuition fees.
On days when PS145 is closed but Russian Children’s Studio is open, KOMPOT services are not provided, and children should arrive directly to their academic classes at 3:45 PM.
Unlike academic program tuition, KOMPOT tuition may be canceled and refunded or credited toward the child’s future enrollment with RCS. A minimum of one week’s written notice is required to process cancellation.
Please note that cancellation is considered permanent; temporary absences due to vacations, illness, or other family events do not qualify for cancellation or credit.

How to Enroll
KOMPOT is offered as a supplemental service to your child’s academic after-school programs RFNS and RAFL.
All enrollment details are addressed during the registration process for RFNS and RAFL programs. Enrollment in KOMPOT is included as part of the overall after-school program contract and follows the same registration procedures.
